Prague
- Time: CET (Central European time)
- Electricity: In the Czech Republic, Type E sockets are used, for which Type C and F plugs are also suitable. The European standard is 220-240 Volts and 50 Hz. It is useful to bring a travel adapter or buy one at DATART (Palladium, Narodni trida) or Electro World (Na Porici).
- Taxi: Please use the services of UBER or BOLT instead of calling a taxi. If you order a taxi by phone, let the reception desk at your hotel help you. Always ask for the approximate price of the route as soon as you board.
- Tipping: Generally speaking, restaurants will include a surcharge of 8-10% on the bill, but if this isn't the case, 10-15% is the standard.
- Safety: Prague is a very safe destination. Walking around at night is no problem at all. However, be cautious for pickpockets. In case of an emergency, call 112, and you will reach an English-speaking operatory.
- Currency: Czech koruna. Don’t use dollars or euros as payment.
- Exchange rates: Latest Currency Exchange Rates: 1 Euro = 24.2626 Czech Koruna. US Dollar to Czech Koruna ; 1 USD = 22.0266 CZK
- Credit cards: Visa, Master and American Express are widely used.
Weather in Prague
Travel from Václav Havel Airport (PRG) To Hotel
- Transport from the airport to the hotel upon arrival will be individually arranged by the guests.
- The closest airport to the hotel is Prague Airport (PRG). Navigating to Hotel Carlo IV from PRG is easy. Only 18 kilometers (11 miles) away, the drive should take approximately 25-35 minutes and costs around 700 CZK.
- If you're traveling via public transport, take the bus 100 from the airport and alight at Zlicin, direction Namesti Republiky. Namesti Republiky is 400m away from the hotel. A ticket is around 32 CZK (€1.20)
- For those driving, the hotel graciously offers parking, but here's a tip: reserve your spot in advance. At €25/day or €2.50/hour, you can explore Prague without a parking worry in sight!
Venue
Looking forward to seeing you in Prague!
Our conference takes place at the Hotel Carlo IV, which is a splendid Neo-Renaissance palace in the center of Prague. We will have excellent conference rooms, well-equipped facilities, and modern social spaces – a great venue for you to connect, to collaborate, and to get to know your fellow Supply Chain leaders.
We will also ensure you have time to experience the city itself. The city of Prague remains one of the most beautiful eastern European cities, with iconic sights such as the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and elegant Wenceslas Square. Most people say the best way to explore is to walk. Coupled with the fact that GMM will take place in the month end of summer which will allow outdoor fun and socialising in the city centre. The hotel is just a ten minute-walk from Old Town Square.
More detailed information on where we will organize the business and social program will be sent before the event. Venues are carefully selected to ensure a Prague experience and taking weather conditions into account.
